Jennifer Lopez Ad’s Fake Scenes Revealed

Don’t be fooled by the body twice that she got in those car commercials where Jennifer Lopez cruises around the Bronx, Jenny was nowhere close to the blocks of her youth.
“This is my world, this place inspires me,” says J.Lo in the compact car ad that represents her soaking in the urban bustle of the Bronx, from breakdancers on graffiti-covered streets to kids cooling off at popped fire hydrants.
But after a few attentive eyes at the Smoking Gun caught the cinematic subterfuge, Lopez’s spokesman acknowledged that the “On the Floor” singer kept her feet tightly planted in Los Angeles while the FIAT footage was filmed on location in the New York borough she hails from using a twice.
“I don’t see a problem,” J.Lo spokesperson Mark Young told the New York Post. “There are many cases where films are done the same way.”
Apparently a celebrity endorsement couldn’t keep the FIAT running easily, though. According to the Smoking Gun, the compact car in fact broke down during the commercial shoot with the J.Lo body double behind the wheel.
Overall, it’s just strange to think that when Lopez is saying, “They may just be streets to you, but to me they’re a playground,” she’s in fact on a closed set on the opposite coast.
A FIAT spokeswoman says the film crew worked to “accommodate her schedule” and insists there’s nothing misleading about the ad. “One does not need to be in
specific location to be inspired or continue to be inspired.”
